Delta Air Lines will launch a new loyalty program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in October. Called SkyMiles for Business, the program is free and replaces the SkyBonus program. There will be three loyalty tiers for business enterprises:

Member: Open to all small and medium-sized organizations without traveler or spending minimums.
Plus: Businesses start earning miles with at least five employee travelers and $5,000 annual travel spend.
Elite: This top tier is for accounts with at least five employee travelers and $300,000 annual travel spend.

According to Delta, members will be able to redeem their SkyMiles for award flight. In addition, employees will be able to add to their own reserve of SkyMiles when they travel for work while their company also earns miles.

Existing SkyBonus Plus and Elite accounts will retain their loyalty tiers and enjoy the new program’s benefits.

Members will earn SkyMiles instead of SkyPoints, which, according to the airline, makes it easier to calculate award travel redemptions. Plus and Elite-level businesses will have their existing SkyBonus balance converted into SkyMiles. Travel itineraries will start earning SkyMiles on flights operated by these airlines: Delta, Air France, KLM, Aeromexico and Virgin Atlantic.
